At Karoo Baba, beauty and comfort are never separate. Everything we make is designed to be touched, used, and lived with - because real luxury is best experienced, not just admired.
Founded in South Africa in 2017, we set out to reimagine what luxury objects for the home could be - pieces with the soul of an artwork and the comfort of something you reach for every day.

She grew up in the mountains of the Eastern Cape, where winters were long, snow was guaranteed, and sheep were part of the landscape. No electricity. No central heating. And somehow, no sheepskin.
It took years of travel and a more objective eye to see what had always been there - a material grown on South African soil, used across the world in nurseries, homes, hotels and wardrobes, while remaining largely untapped at its source.
Karoo Baba was founded in 2017 to close that gap. From babies to the elderly, bedrooms to offices, footwear to wearables - replacing synthetic with nature, one skilfully made piece at a time.
True warmth is only appreciated when you know the cold.

Every piece is made by hand, start to finish. Some things simply can't be hurried — and honestly, we wouldn't want to.
Nature honored
Our sheepskin is ethically sourced from Karoo farms, where sheep are raised for wool and meat. Every hide that becomes a Karoo Baba piece is a byproduct of that cycle — nothing wasted, nothing unnecessary.
